We resumed contact with Ukraine recently - spokesman for Maliʼs Tuareg rebels
Mohamed Elmauloud Ramadan, spokesman for the CSP-DPA, a Tuareg group fighting for the independence of the state of Azawad in Africa against the Malian military junta supported by Wagner's militants, spoke about the group's connections with Ukraine
Ramadan revealed in an interview with Contre-Poison that the CSP-DPA resumed contact with Ukraine relatively recently, around early 2024.
"We share a common enemy: Wagner's Russian mercenaries, who have also invaded Ukraine. Ukraine views Wagner as a threat wherever it operates, and in Azawad, we are opposing this organization, which has caused suffering and destruction in many countries, including Libya, Syria, the Central African Republic, and Sudan,” he noted.

According to the spokesman, the cooperation between CSP-DPA and Ukraine is still in its early stages.
"It’s too soon to specify the exact nature of Ukraine’s assistance. However, I would like to ask Ukraine for help in several key areas: military support, weapons, training for our soldiers, and human rights education," he added.
