War with Ukraine far exceeds Russia's capabilities - political analyst Morozov
Alexander Morozov, a political scientist and lecturer at Charles University in Prague, believes that the extent of the war Putin declared is so great that he will not have enough specialists.
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
"The attack on the Pskov airfield made a very big impression, including on the Russian population. However, the Kremlin has not responded. And this is an important point. In such a situation, the population, including those in the Pskov region, are asking questions: Where and how did this come from? And there has been no answer. That is, the Kremlin is unable to publicly respond to the population. These raids on Moscow City also made a big impression, and then on the Pskov airfield. And the last word is still not said here," the political analyst noted.
Alexander Morozov noted that Putin probably gives orders to the FSB all the time, but there is an overestimation and mystification of capabilities, including hardware. The FSB doesn't have enough forces to do everything. All of Putin's secret service personnel have been thrown into the development of the occupied territories. Accordingly, they are few and far between, unable to complete the task of understanding where those drones were launched from.
"The degree of war that Putin has declared is so large-scale that he will not have enough specialists. This war far exceeds the capabilities of the Russian Federation. Therefore, every further move by Ukraine in this war will have a great impact on the internal situation in Russia. And it is effective," Morozov concluded.
What is known about the strike on the Pskov airbase
On the evening of Tuesday, 29 August, explosions occurred in the Russian city of Pskov near the airfield: the Russian Ministry of Defence kept silent about the UAV attack, while the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence confirmed the destruction of at least four Il-76 aircraft.
During the large-scale drone attack on the night of 29 August, air defence forces and equipment failed to shoot down the drones, which destroyed several military transport IL-76s at the Pskov airfield, as they were sent to defend Moscow.
Also on Espreso, Ivan Kyrychevskyi, Defence Express military expert, said that the Russian forces have deployed most of their air defence systems to the front line, so we have a unique situation to effectively plot routes for our drones.
On 31 August, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, told Espreso TV channel that Russian forces were using transport aircraft to move personnel and weapons.
Also, on the night of 31 August to 1 September, an unknown object was spotted in the sky over Pskov, allegedly Russian air defence systems were operating
