Ukraine’s main problem is Russia’s numerical superiority - Ukrainian Armed Forces spokesman Cherevatyi
Russia has personnel problems, but the number of its soldiers is a problem and a challenge for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Russian troops will not voluntarily withdraw or eliminate themselves from Ukrainian territory
The spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Cherevatyi, shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Our main problem is the sheer number of the enemy. The enemy still has reserves, although their main problem is clearly visible - it is the personnel. Because they are afraid of launching a full mobilization, Russians are finding various ways to get around it. Alongside their regular troops, they are also mobilizing the combat army reserve, territorial troops, Storm-Z assault groups, which are recruited at military enlistment offices from criminal elements and PMCs," he said.
Cherevatyi added that the situation is the same with weapons - they are older than they were at the beginning of the invasion.
"Most of it is Soviet IFVs, armored personnel carriers, tanks, artillery systems. In quantitative terms, there is a lot of it. The sheer number of their forces is our primary challenge. They will not willingly eliminate themselves or withdraw from our territory. While they may currently lack the capability to conduct major strategic offensive operations, their substantial forces and equipment pose complications for our plans," the spokesman emphasized.
He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using the "thousand cuts" tactic.
"We calculate each tactical operation, advance, gain ground, and this is intended to preserve our personnel as much as possible. This is purely from our point of view, values and even from a purely military point of view. The most important thing a commander has is trained and motivated people," the spokesman summarized.
