Ukraine’s Intelligence explains what is needed to turn tide in war with Russia
To turn the tide in the war, Ukraine needs more intensive supply of weapons, including attack aircraft
Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Voice of America.
"This is an intensification of arms supplies. Intensification. Because weapons are being supplied, but the pace and volume are not sufficient to turn the tide. As of now. That is, we need more. In addition, we need attack aircraft, which has not yet come to us," he said.
He emphasized that when speaking about attack aircraft, he was expressing his own subjective vision.
"F-16s and similar platforms are not attack aircraft. Attack aircraft in the US are primarily A10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. It also includes attack helicopters like AH-64 and so on. These are air platforms designed to strike on the ground," he said.
Ukraine is currently negotiating the possibility of obtaining fighter jets rather than attack aircraft.
