UK will be first country to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons – Prime Minister Sunak

He made the statement during his speech at the Munich Security Conference on February 18.

"The UK will be the first country to provide Ukraine with long range weapons," he said.

• On February 15, British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announced that the UK will not be supplying Ukraine with fighter jets.

• On February 17, France provided 5th generation Akeron anti-tank guided missile systems to Ukraine.

• Later, a group of US lawmakers called on US President Joe Biden to begin supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighters.

• On February 18, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for increased military assistance to Ukraine in his speech at the Munich Security Conference. 

• On February 18, British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said that Ukraine should expect to receive modern fighter jets after the war with Russia ends.
