Two journalists have already disappeared in the Kherson region: their relatives share details
Two journalists have already disappeared in the Kherson region - Oleg Baturin and Serhiy Tsyhypa have not been in touch since March 12.
This was reported by the Public Media.
On March 12, Oleg Baturin, a journalist with the Kherson newspaper Novy Den, went missing in Kakhovka. His colleague Ivan Antypenko last spoke to the journalist on the day of his disappearance.
"Oleg said that he would go to the meeting at about 4 pm, but without details. There has been no contact with him since then," he said.
According to him, Oleg Baturin knew many people as a journalist with many years of experience and did not hide his pro-Ukrainian political position.
"He had clear and understandable messages on Facebook about who is the enemy and what is happening," said Ivan Antipenko.
Oleg Baturin joined the local civic group, patrolled the streets, and protected the city from looters.
"I know that the Russians detained him, they have him. He was detained either together with Serhiy Tsygypa or separately," the journalist said.
Journalist from Nova Kakhovka Serhiy Tsygipa, in turn, disappeared on the morning of March 12. His wife, Olena, said he with his dog had to take some food to her mother. He was stopped at a checkpoint across the North Crimean canal and was being checked for a long time. Locals told her about it by phone.
Later, Olena found a dog in the yard of the executive committee. The military did not say anything about the man's detention.
"Nobody contacted me, we are waiting, maybe there will be some details. Perhaps he photographed something. He posted a lot of information on his Facebook page every day. He wrote a lot every day, 4-5 articles, all of a patriotic nature, gave information on location, what battles are being fought, what is being done, he was waging an information war," Olena said.
The wife of the missing journalist suggests that the man's detention is connected with his active citizenship and journalistic activities.
