Three representatives of Ukraine join governing bodies of PACE
Olena Khomenko became vice-president, and Yevhenia Kravchuk and Maria Mazentseva became heads of the committees.
Ukrainian MP Yevhenia Kravchuk wrote about this on Facebook.
"I was just elected as head of the PACE Culture, Science, Education and Media Committee. Maria Mazentseva became head of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination. Also this year we have vice-president of the assembly, Olena Khomenko took the position," deputy noted.
She promised that she would activate all possible international mechanisms to protect the world and, of course, Ukrainian cultural heritage.
"I will also make efforts to improve Council of Europe's monitoring of the movement of cultural values; to isolate Russia from international academic and cultural environment; to ensure integral support by countries of the Council of Europe for efforts in the field of justice in relation to all crimes affecting cultural heritage," Yevhenia Kravchuk added.
She also emphasized that this is the first time that Ukraine has received such powerful representation in governing bodies of PACE.
