"The authorities’ disregard for all Ukrainians, the opinion that the war will forgive everything": journalist Butusov commented on the shutdown of Espreso, Pryamiy and Channel 5
The editor-in-chief of the Censor.NET publication, Yuriy Butusov, called the shutdown of the Ukrainian TV channels Espreso, Priyamy and Channel 5 from the air "a disregard for all Ukrainians by the authorities"
Butusov wrote about this on Facebook.
"We are fighting for freedom, and this is the value that makes our people and army invincible. Restricting freedom of speech in relation to channels whose patriotic position is beyond doubt is a disregard for the power of all Ukrainians, the opinion that "the war will forgive everything". Not everything and not for everyone", Butusov wrote.
The journalist emphasized that only free media can guarantee public control of the authorities, and called for the immediate resumption of broadcasting of Espreso, Pryamiy and Channel 5.
"Only freedom of speech is a guarantee of our society's control over power. Uncontrolled power is a danger, which we have been convinced of for many years. Therefore, immediately resume broadcasting and do not humiliate Ukraine with your insane desire to shut up any position that differs from yours. It looks like that instead of arming and mobilization, the Office of the President spends time settling political scores", Butusov wrote.
