Russian troops' self-destruction: Ukrainian official on Russian southern defense lines
Captain 1st Rank Natalia Humeniuk, the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, highlights that the Ukrainian army is benefiting from the minefields that the enemy has established against them
She shared the information on Espreso TV.
"On the Zaporizhzhia front, we are advancing, and to advance we have to push back their defense lines or break them by going deeper. The enemy has been on the left bank for a long time. They had time, opportunities, and construction potential to set up a multi-echelon defense, which we will still have to face. In our area of responsibility, the first line was washed away by high water, and now the Russians are trying to return to the positions they were knocked out of and washed out of. However, we continue our fire work and counter-battery combat to prevent them from doing so," emphasized Humeniuk.
According to the spokesperson, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are benefiting from minefields that Russian troops have set up against them.
"But our water, on our territory, pushed the enemy minefields towards the Russians themselves. Very often there are cases when they themselves blow up on their own "surprises.” We understand that the front line along the Dnipro River is specific and difficult. Therefore, the Russians, pinned down from the Zaporizhzhia direction, are nervous along the coastline. We continue to clear the area that will allow us to move inland from the water's edge. So far, this is not advisable, as we may come under enemy fire. That is why we continue counter-battery fighting," emphasized Humeniuk.
