Russian helicopters start attacking from afar for fear of Ukrainian air defense
Russian military use Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopters from afar and do not fly within the range of Ukrainian air defense
The spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, told Radio Svoboda.
"At this stage, we are destroying them with missile strikes. The enemy is not flying into the area of our air defense. Because our soldiers have learned to shoot them down quite professionally. That's why the enemy strikes from afar," he said.
The spokesman also added that the effectiveness of Russian helicopters at long range is much lower than if they flew closer. However, they are simply afraid of Ukrainian missiles.
According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian military destroyed 324 helicopters and 320 airplanes during the full-scale invasion.
