Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said this on Espreso TV.
"Locals are very scared. All the houses where people have left, regardless of whether they left their homes under the supervision of relatives or neighbors, are raided from time to time by the Russian military. They are all occupied as barracks," he emphasized.
Refat Chubarov noted that each private house is home to 10 to 15 Russian soldiers, who change periodically.
"This is a very heavy blow to people," added the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
