What can Ukraine's response to Russia's August 26 attack be? Expert suggests
Defense Express development director Valerii Riabykh suggests what Ukraine's response to the massive Russian attack on August 26 could be
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Retaliation can be, first of all, a massive strike on enemy military facilities, especially those used for these terrorist attacks against Ukraine. In particular, the same drone missiles that were announced on August 24 and whose main purpose, as announced, is to reduce the military potential, in particular, to terrorize the civilian population, can be used for such strikes. These are, first of all, more than two dozen airfields from which the means of terrorizing Ukrainians take off, these are the sites from which other means are launched, they are known to the intelligence," he said.
Valerii Riabykh also spoke about how Western partners should respond to the attacks on Ukraine.
"Frankly speaking, Ukraine will try to solve this by its own means, but at the same time, it should be emphasized that the same statement by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is also significant, and he said that there should be two main responses from our partners to such strikes. One is to authorize long-range strikes with their weapons in order to stop these terrorist attacks by the Russian Federation as soon as possible. And, of course, also to join the defense of Ukraine, as, for example, it was in the case of Israel, and to shoot down the same weapons over the territory of Ukraine so that they do not fly to Poland, as we have seen again today," the expert added.
- On August 26, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov assured that Ukraine was preparing its own response to Russian attacks, including weapons of its own production.
