No grounds for Ukraine's negotiations with Russia today - MP Kniazhytskyi
Ukrainian MP Mykola Kniazhytskyi believes that there are no prerequisites for negotiations with Russia at the moment
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"I, like most Ukrainians, want peace. That is why I am ready to support any efforts of the Ukrainian authorities to achieve peace. However, I still see no desire on the part of the Russian Federation to talk about peace. The fact that the Ukrainian government is sending certain signals and holding peace summits is more of a PR campaign, primarily for Ukrainian society, but also for our partners. We also need to do this, because we really need external support," explained Kniazhytskyi. According to the MP, the Western allies will never agree to Putin's conditions for peace with Ukraine.
"Now many countries continue to support us, realizing what kind of enemy we are fighting. And this is extremely important today. However, I hear everyone talking about the upcoming elections and negotiations, but I still don't see any reason for them. I do not understand how this can happen. I don't believe that Ukrainians will agree to Putin's proposals, which are an outright mockery. He wants to destroy the whole of Ukraine. Most importantly, our Western allies will not agree to this. They have been supporting us for a long time and have invested a lot of money in our defense, which is actually an investment in our future. Frankly speaking, I would really like the talk about the Kremlin's weakness and Putin's desire to negotiate because of this to be true. I want to believe it, but unfortunately, I don't see it yet," he added.
