Russia's cyberattack on state registries aims to undermine Ukraine's elections - journalist
Journalist Larysa Voloshyna suggests that one of the goals of Russia's cyberattack on state registries is to call into question the elections in Ukraine
She spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"Russians have demonstrated, on one hand, Putin claims, 'I want elections,' while on the other, they show they were in the system and stole our data. This casts doubt on the idea of conducting elections via smartphones. After these events, Washington is pressuring for elections, which will likely be a demand from Trump, as is now almost openly discussed. Any elections held in Ukraine after this, electronic or otherwise, could be called into question," Voloshyna noted.
According to her, this is also an opportunity for intelligence and for stirring up internal conflicts after the elections. Putin is counting on such excesses to destabilize our country.
“He wants Ukraine to collapse. We know that incorrectly conducted elections, elections in which the Ukrainian people have doubts, can lead to dire consequences,” she added.
