The Crimean Tatar Resource Center reported the information.

"These cases are related to the critical deterioration of the health of political prisoners in places of confinement, systematic disregard for the requests of lawyers and the prisoners themselves, as well as the denial of adequate medical care," the report states.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center (KRC) reminded that, as a result of the actions of the Russian occupation "authorities," two political prisoners, Dzhemil Gafarov and Konstantin Shiring, died in 2023 due to the lack of medical assistance.

"The Crimean Tatar Resource Center also emphasizes that among the prisoners are elderly individuals and people with disabilities suffering from severe illnesses. Due to the horrific conditions of detention, the lack of proper medical care, and the neglect of complaints, their health continues to deteriorate, which could have fatal consequences," the KRC notes.

The KRC also released statistics regarding those who violate human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to activists, 36.1% of such individuals are FSB employees, 16.9% are judges, 12.7% are prosecutors, 13.9% are court secretaries, 9% are experts and doctors, 6% are Ministry of Internal Affairs employees, 3% are Federal Penitentiary Service employees, 1.2% are court-appointed lawyers, and 1.2% are other officials.

  • Journalist Oleksandra Yefymenko reported that the Russians are trying to make the conditions for Ukrainian political prisoners harsher and that there are increasingly more cases against women in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
