He shared this information on the Espreso TV channel.
"Right now, Chasiv Yar is pure hell. The situation in the city is extremely challenging. Fighting is ongoing in the area. Our troops, standing firm on Chasiv Yar's soil and ready to sacrifice their lives to defend every meter, are ensuring our protection," Chaus emphasized.
Chaus also noted that civilians remain in the city despite the conditions. Currently, around 220 people are trying to survive there.
"People are ignoring our evacuation calls, and convincing them is incredibly difficult. As a result, we face situations where evacuation becomes either impossible or extremely dangerous," he explained.
- Since the start of January 21, there have been 121 combat clashes on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with the Russian army focusing its attacks most intensely in the Pokrovsk direction.
- The Ukrainian Defense Forces have lost control of the territory around the Chasiv Yar Refractory Plant.
