The Special Operations Forces reported the information.
It is noted that operators of the 8th Special Operations Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, together with infantry, held off an advance by North Korean forces armed with small arms and grenade launchers for over 8 hours.
"At the ninth hour of the battle, the special forces group had only a third of their ammunition left. They spent the rest on destroying the enemy," the statement says.
The operators decided to exfiltrate, a military tactic to quickly remove a group from the battlefield to safety.
“The soldiers coordinated their exfil in two Humvees. We keep working,” the report says.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 4,000 North Korean soldiers out of a total of 12,000 were killed in the fighting in the Kursk region of Russia.
