Drone attack on Zaporizhzhia

At 9:10 p.m., Ukrinform reported that Russian drones and air defense systems were heard in some parts of Zaporizhzhia. Later, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported a fire as a result of a Russian attack. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene.

At 9:54 p.m., Fedorov said that the blast wave and debris had partially smashed the windows in the nine-story building. A 12-year-old boy and a woman were injured in the Russian attack.

Later, the number of victims increased to four.

Attack on the Kharkiv city and the region

At 9:54 p.m., the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that a Russian drone had hit a nine-story residential building in the Saltiv district of the city.

“A fire broke out on the spot. The first two floors have been destroyed. All services are working to eliminate the consequences,” he said.

Syniehubov added that there were two reports of acute stress reaction - medics provided assistance on the spot.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov clarified that Russian terrorists struck the first and second floors of the high-rise building. Four victims are known, including a 12-year-old girl.

According to Syniehubov, 3 out of 4 injured have acute stress reactions. A 12-year-old girl has a light shrapnel wound.

Firefighters are extinguishing the fire at the site of the impact, which is 30 square meters in size.

“We are inspecting the building and conducting a survey on the resettlement of people,” said the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

At 11:30 p.m., the regional administration reported that the number of victims had increased to six: “Five with acute stress reactions.”

At 11:48 p.m., Terekhov reported another hit in the Kyiv district of the city. There was a fire at the site of the hit. Later, the Regional Military Administration reported that there were no casualties.

“Another attack by a Russian drone took place in the Solonytsia community of Kharkiv district. There is a fire in a non-residential building. No casualties,” added Syniehubov.

He later wrote that one person in Kyiv district suffered an acute stress reaction.

“There are still people in the private house where the fire broke out as a result of the hit,” Terekhov noted.

The fire, which broke out in the Saltiv district of Kharkiv, was extinguished at 11:04 p.m., the State Emergency Service reported.

At 00:13, Terekhov reported that people had been rescued from the burning building: “At the moment, there are two victims.”

Dmytro Chubenko, a spokesman for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, described the consequences of the hit in the Kyiv district.

According to him, the Russians attacked the city, first of all, with a Geranium-2 UAV. As a result of the attack, two people, including an elderly woman, suffered an acute stress reaction.

The drone hit a tree, but its fragments severely damaged two private houses. Windows and facades of about a dozen other houses were damaged.

“This is the second shelling of Kharkiv within two hours, the enemy is targeting residential buildings,” added Chubenko.

At the same time, a drone hit a civilian enterprise in Solonytsia, there is no information about the wounded.

  • On the morning of December 20, the Russian army fired missiles at Ukraine. Debris fell in several districts of Kyiv, injuring at least 11 people.
