Russian troops come within 6 km of Myrnohrad in Donetsk region, about 20,000 people remain in town
About 20,000 civilians remain in Myrnohrad, Donetsk region, with Russian troops stationed 6 kilometers from the town
Yuriy Tretiak, acting head of the Myrnohrad Military Administration, told Radio Svoboda.
He said that Ukrainians are leaving the town, but not in the way the situation requires.
"The contact line is now about six kilometers from the town of Myrnohrad. People are leaving, but not as fast and as lively as we would like, as the situation requires. First of all, we are trying to organize the evacuation of children and elderly people who have difficulty taking care of themselves and have problems with mobility. Many people leave on their own, though. Because explosions are constantly heard, artillery shelling is constantly heard, even on the outskirts of the community," said Tretiak.
He emphasized that they plan to evacuate all people from Myrnohrad by the end of August.
- On August 15, it became known that Russian troops had approached almost close to Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. The invaders are based just over 10 kilometers from the outskirts of the city.
