Russian army approaches Ukraine's Pokrovsk, local authorities ask civilians to evacuate
Russian troops are now positioned just over 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region

Serhii Dobriak, the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, reported the information on August 15.
"Today, the Russian army has come very close to the Pokrovsk community, with their forces positioned just over 10 kilometers from the outskirts of Pokrovsk. They are targeting critical infrastructure as well as residential buildings, resulting in civilian casualties," Dobriak said.
He urged residents, particularly families with children and the elderly, to evacuate immediately.
- The forced evacuation of children in the Donetsk region is proceeding non-stop. On August 7, Pavlo Diachenko, the acting head of the National Police's communication department in the Donetsk region, reported that 4,000 children remain in 28 settlements.
- On August 14, invading Russian forces captured Zhelanne and Orlivka in the Donetsk region. The distance from these towns to Pokrovsk is approximately 20 kilometers.
