Evacuation in Donetsk region continues: 4,000 children remain in 28 settlements
The forced evacuation of children in the Donetsk region is proceeding non-stop, Ukraine's police says
Pavlo Diachenko, acting head of the National Police's communication department in the Donetsk region, provided an update on evacuation efforts on Espreso TV.
"Evacuations are currently taking place in 28 settlements across the Donetsk region. Twenty teams are involved, including the 'White Angel' police evacuation units, patrol officers, police paramedics, and State Emergency Service teams. The 20 teams are fully engaged and cover all the communities where evacuations have been announced. Around four thousand children need to be evacuated. The process is ongoing and continuous, with extra measures to ensure their safety," Diachenko said.
"There are no children in the settlements located on the front line," Diachenko stated.
"Of course, there may be exceptions where someone has secretly returned, we do not exclude such possibilities. According to all checks and the latest data, there are no children in Toretsk. Currently, the evacuation efforts are focused primarily on middle-aged and elderly people," he added.
- Yevhen Bielov, the head of the Free Kharkiv Movement, stated that Russian troops are blocking civilian evacuations from the temporarily occupied area of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.
