Ukraine's General Staff reports 45 combat clashes with Russian troops over past day

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

During the day, Russia launched 4 missile strikes, 56 airstrikes, and 43 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, the Russian terrorist attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Multi-storey and private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

In the morning, Russia fired two ballistic missiles at Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed two missiles. In the evening, Russia launched another ballistic missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. The consequences of this attack are being clarified.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct any assault operations. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Rozdolivka, and north of Vesele, Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Berdychi and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian army near Novomykhailivka, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 15 times. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, attacked the Ukrainian positions 3 times near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; southwest of Bilohirsk and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia did not conduct any assault operations over the last day. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 9 Russian military positions.

Missile troops destroyed an air defense system, an artillery vehicle, an electronic warfare station, a personnel concentration area, and an UAV control station.

• Over the last day, March 24, 60 combat engagements took place at the front, and the Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks in the Avdiivka sector and killed 640 soldiers.
