The head of the Reserve Council of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ivan Tymochko, noted that the FSB and GRU of the Russian Federation had long been preparing complex operations, waiting only for a catalyst that could provoke an internal conflict in Ukraine

He made this statement on Espreso TV.

"The FSB and GRU of the Russian Federation had been preparing these complex operations for a long time, waiting only for a catalyst that could provoke an internal conflict, including the murder of a recruitment office's employee who was a serviceman. The FSB's calculation was for an internal conflict between the military and civilians, between different government branches and civil organizations," Tymochko said.

According to the head of the Reserve Council of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia had long been forming groups on social media, training them to oppose Ukrainian military recruitment center employees and block military units.

"Unfortunately, Ukrainian politicians tried to court these people, hoping to turn them into an electoral base. Law enforcement agencies hoped to infiltrate with their agents and be aware of any emerging threats, but this situation also contributed to the tension among Ukrainians. They were essentially searching for fertile ground on which to sow despair, and the murder of a serviceman is the result of many maneuvers, where each pursued their own goals without considering that it could pose a direct threat to the integrity of our state. Indeed, after the murder, the Russians activated their entire system, prepared for terrorist attacks, which they had been preparing for a long time but kept in reserve. They were also looking for an audience they could quickly engage," Tymochko explained.

He also added that most of the terrorist attacks are carried out by young people because recently there has been significant attention focused on the mobilization of youth aged 18 to 25.

"Politicians have been stirring up this issue to draw attention to a specific age social category. Meanwhile, the FSB was trying to find a marginal structure within this group," Tymochko concluded.

  • Russia is using its agents to destabilize Ukraine through Territorial Centers of Recruitment and Social Support (TCC).
