Russian troops dig multi-story trenches hard to clear, says Ukrainian serviceman
The spokesperson of the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Volodymyr Dehtyarov, noted that UAV operators systematically destroy Russian dugouts every day and night
He said this on Espreso TV.
"We hold the front north of Kharkiv, between the village of Lyptsi and the border. Our main task is to continue striking the Russian army, preventing them from accumulating and moving toward the border, which we are doing in the forests and forest belts located between Lyptsi and further north," explained Dehtyarov.
According to the spokesperson of the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the specifics of the terrain determine the nature of the battles. Advancing and any movement in dense, wooded areas is heavily restricted.
"Russians are very good at digging. They dig multi-story tunnels for one or two people, making it difficult to smoke them out. Our main task is to support our UAV pilots and strike drones, who systematically destroy enemy shelters every day and night, driving them out of these tunnels, destroying their supply routes, and mining the approach paths," emphasized Dehtyarov.
- The invading Russian army lost 1,140 servicemen in a day of war in Ukraine. The Defense Forces destroyed a number of Russian equipment, including 9 tanks.
