How Oschadbank's mobile branch works: the case of Sumy region
Oschadbank mobile branches operate in five frontline regions of Ukraine. Sumy region is among them.
This is described in the story of Espreso.
In the first days of the full-scale invasion, the Russians managed to briefly capture some of the settlements of Sumy region, including Konotop, Trostyanets, Bakhmach, etc. It was through the Sumy region that the occupiers planned to reach Kyiv, and eventually, three years later, the region became the route of the Defense Forces to the Russian Kursk region.
Today, the settlements of Sumy region, which are located near the border with Russia, suffer from constant shelling. However, even under such conditions, mobile branches of Oschadbank operate in the villages and towns of the region to provide people with quality financial services.
The mobile bank branch has all the same functions as a regular stationary bank branch. It is equipped on the basis of a Ford Transit vehicle and has satellite communications, an alarm system and panic buttons, as well as an autonomous power supply, video surveillance, fire extinguishing, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
“We currently have no physical branches. The only way for people to get banking services is through mobile teams that visit us and provide services to the residents of our villages,” said Sergii Filonenko, head of Andriyashivka village council.
At the mobile branch, residents of Sumy region can receive social benefits and their salaries, issue a card, conduct necessary banking transactions, and pay for utilities.
Oschadbank's mobile branches are currently operating in the five most dangerous regions of Ukraine. These are places where almost nothing works, but where our people still live.
“We realize that this is not something that gives us a big profit. This is not a story about making money. This is a story about supporting our people who are in places where it is not possible to operate a branch, where it is dangerous. It's not about money, it's about social responsibility,” said Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
