Putin will continue war until it becomes clear who is next in White House — political analyst
Ukraine's complete dependence on Western military aid enables Putin to continue the war of aggression
Viktor Bobyrenko, political scientist and expert at the Bureau of Analysis and Policy, shared this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"We must understand how vulnerable Ukraine is today. We have no resources of our own, we are completely dependent on the help of our allies. This is a big trouble, but also an opportunity for Putin. He will definitely continue the war until it becomes clear who will win the White House, whether US President Joe Biden will remain in office or Donald Trump will come to power again. This means that the great bloodshed will continue at least until January or February next year," he said.
The political analyst commented on the change in the position of US House Speaker Mike Johnson on assistance to Ukraine.
"Johnson is a pure careerist, and a Trumpist. He just got the 'it's okay' signal from Trump. He had a task to drag out the issue of aid to Ukraine to show that Trump, who is chasing justice, can actually stop anything in the US. So now they say that Trump has changed his mind. In this way, Trump is showing his capabilities and influence, including on his own party. After all, they could have played this "game" until September, when the third of the congressmen who would be rotating would have been nominated. Since they have to be nominated by the party, they are directly dependent on Trump. They understand everything and played for the "bad guys" who have now become the "good guys" because Trump made a statement on Ukraine," Bobyrenko said.
