"Critical need": US Congress calls to provide urgent aid to Ukraine
Members of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, following a clandestine meeting on April 16th to address the situation in Ukraine, have called on Congress to swiftly approve aid for Kyiv, citing the critical nature of the situation
This is according to a statement issued by committee members Republican Mike Turner and Democrat Jim Himes.
The congressmen emphasized the immediate necessity of aiding Ukraine due to the severity of the situation.
"We must pass Ukraine aid now. Today, in a classified briefing, our Committee was informed of the critical need to provide Ukraine military aid this week. The United States must stand against Putin's war of aggression now as Ukraine's situation on the ground is critical," the statement read.
- The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) recently warned that significant delays in US military aid to Ukraine afford the Russians flexibility in their offensive operations, potentially resulting in operationally significant victories.
