Only destroyed cars and houses left: volunteer on evacuation from Kurakhove sector
Volunteer Vlad Makhovskyi says that traveling through Kurakhove has become increasingly dangerous due to ongoing Russian artillery strikes and the threat of guided bombs
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“The last evacuation of people took place in Kurakhivka, a settlement located behind Kurakhove. Traveling there has become increasingly dangerous due to the constant threat of guided bombs and artillery strikes. When you drive there, you see all the destruction. Thankfully, I was able to reach Kurakhivka and evacuate the residents. However, it remains challenging because finding addresses is difficult—identification signs are lacking, and street names are often absent, forcing you to navigate blindly. On my way to Kurakhivka for the evacuation, I encountered burned and destroyed cars and homes, with no one else in sight. It feels like venturing into the unknown, uncertain of where you might end up,” said Vlad Makhovskyi.
The volunteer noted that many residents remain in the settlements along the Kurakhove direction, primarily elderly individuals reluctant to abandon their homes and farms. Additionally, there are some locals who fall into the “waiting” category, anticipating the arrival of the so-called “Russian world.”
- Earlier, Volunteer Vlad Makhovskyi reported that Kurakhove now resembles a ruined town, with pharmacies and shops no longer operational.
