"As of now, together with the Coordination Headquarters and other bodies we are working with, we have managed to return 3,767 heroes from Russian captivity," he said.
The Ombudsman clarified that 168 of the 3,767 prisoners returned were civilians.
At the same time, Lubinets emphasized that the prisoners of war were returned only through the exchange procedure. According to him, today "tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens are in Russian captivity," according to official figures.
- On November 8, during a meeting in Belarus, the Ukrainian and Russian sides exchanged lists of prisoners of war visited by both sides and letters from their relatives.
