Low-quality mines are delivered to frontline, journalist Butusov says
Ukrainian soldiers have been supplied with a batch of substandard mines manufactured by Ukroboronprom, according to media reports
This was stated by the editor-in-chief of Censor.NET, Yuriy Butusov.
The media also showed a video from the front in which soldiers demonstrate the quality of the mines produced by Ukroboronprom.
It is reported that this is not the first time that Ukrainian defenders have complained about the poor quality of domestically produced ammunition.
"Unfortunately, some mines have been taken to the warehouse to investigate the cause of the malfunction. A new video has been sent from another military unit where these mines remain in use and are not being withdrawn," Butusov said.
He stressed that this was 'a really serious systemic problem'.
"A batch has been withdrawn, but the same batch with defects remains. And these mines must be removed immediately. Not only do we need to take them back - we need to understand who planned the production of such mines and how, who is responsible for quality and how, who is responsible for military acceptance among military leaders. Why such mines were transferred to military units without quality control - and this needs to be addressed and legally assessed," Butusov stressed.
According to him, this should be done by law enforcement agencies.
"I want to say: let's make our mortar soldiers resistant, not to test with these mines, but to take them back and not to lie about supplying this number of mines to the troops. We have to take them back, to be honest, to say we made a mistake. Go to an interrogation with the investigator and explain why we made a mistake, and then use only those mines that work," the journalist concluded.
