Russia turns Bakhmut into Aleppo, completely destroying buildings and positions – Deputy Defense Minister 

This was stated by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar.

“Russia is not only concentrating its regular troops but also the Wagner PMC in Bakhmut. The latter has already suffered significant losses at the hands of the Ukrainian armed forces. However, the enemy remains steadfast in its goal to capture Bakhmut, resulting in ongoing fierce battles in the area. The enemy's use of artillery and aviation is significant, and they resort to tactics that involve the complete destruction of buildings and positions, transforming parts of the city into Aleppo,” Maliar said.

She emphasizes that the Ukrainian military's defense of Bakhmut is critical, as the enemy would otherwise penetrate deep into Ukraine's territory.

• Eastern Group of Forces commander Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the situation in Bakhmut remains "difficult but under control", the Russian military has switched to the so-called Syrian scorched earth tactics.
