Putin announces partial mobilization in Russia
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country.
He said this during a televised address to the Russians.
"In order to protect our homeland and integrity, I consider it necessary to support partial mobilization," Putin said.
Only those citizens who are in reserve and, above all, those who have served in the ranks of the armed forces, have certain military accounting specialties and relevant experience will be eligible for conscription.
The mobilized must undergo additional military training before being sent to the units.
According to Putin, all issues of material, resource and financial provision of defense enterprises should be resolved by the government immediately.
He also said that the mobilized persons participating in the "special operation" will receive payments and the status of servicemen serving under a contract.
