Polish politician Czech on possible extradition of men to Ukraine
Polish politician Mirosław Czech assured that Poland has all the tools to ensure the possible extradition of men to Ukraine.
He stated this on the Espreso TV channel.
Commenting on the issue of the probability of extradition of men to Ukraine, Czech noted that he is skeptical about the statements of politicians who "make a lot of noise in the media space, but do nothing."
"Less talk and more action. It's not a huge number of people. Believe me, there are not hundreds of thousands of such people, men who leave Ukraine after February 24. Before February 24, these are different issues. A lot of men left to join their families with disabled children, don't forget that, and sometimes there are very difficult cases. That is, we should not make the public atmosphere look like unbelievable abuses are taking place - it stirs up the society, which has its own problems during the war," he said.
In particular, the politician assured that Poland has all the tools for extradition if Ukraine recognizes a request to Poland for a certain person and whether he or she is in Poland.
"All departures from Ukraine are recorded on the basis of passports, the computer system works, it is easy to detect. Therefore, Poland and other EU countries have enough tools to find such people if there is a need. Moreover, I believe that the lion's share of such people, when they hear that such a mechanism has been launched, will come to Ukraine themselves in order not to expose themselves to a very complicated extradition procedure," Czech emphasized.
What is known about extradition
On September 1, the head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia, spoke about the possible extradition of Ukrainians who illegally left the country. "They will be held accountable under the law for bribery, forgery, and evasion of mobilization," the politician said.
On September 4, Poland extradited to Ukraine people who were involved in the transportation of illegal immigrants to Europe. The decision on expulsion from the country is made exclusively by the court.
