Only one-sixth of liberated Kherson region demined due to resource shortage — Ukrainian authorities
Only about one-sixth of the territory in the Kherson region, which was liberated last November, has been demined due to resource limitations
Ukrainska Pravda reported the information.
According to Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, spokesperson for the Kherson Regional Military Administration, "Currently, 104,000 hectares out of 683,000 have been demined, 86,000 of which are for agricultural purposes... We did not count even on this. With the resources we had, we planned to clear about 70,000 hectares."
However, he noted that demining efforts have recently accelerated, with the anticipation of new brigades and equipment arriving in the Kherson region.
