Up to 20 assaults per day: 95th Brigade tells where Russia is trying to break through Ukraine's defense in Donetsk region
Stanislav Krasnov, platoon commander of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, noted that the Russian army mainly attacks with infantry groups, concentrating its attacks near the settlements of Terny and Nevske in the Lyman direction
He told this on Espreso TV.
"The operational situation has been tense for quite some time. For more than a month, the enemy has been storming every day, trying to break through our defense line. The enemy is concentrating its attacks near Terny and Nevske. The Russians conduct the assaults mainly with infantry groups, sometimes armored vehicles are involved. There can be from 5 to 20 assaults per day. Over the past few weeks, they have been attacking with small infantry groups," noted the platoon commander of the 95th Air Assault Brigade.
According to him, earlier the Russian attacks were carried out with armored vehicles, but a lot of Russian equipment has been destroyed, there are entire cemeteries, and even traffic jams have formed on the roads due to Russia's armored vehicles.
"Now the occupiers are trying to attack and break through exclusively with infantry, perhaps this is due to the fact that they have a shortage of equipment and are waiting for replenishment. Every day the enemy strikes Terny, Lyman and other settlements with anti-aircraft missiles," commented Stanislav Krasnov.
- On May 9, British intelligence noted that the Russian occupying army has significantly increased the number of attacks in some parts of the frontline in recent months. Despite this, they did not achieve significant success last month.
- On May 10, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported that at least 95 military clashes took place between the two armies over the past day. Ukrainian forces repelled attacks in 7 directions and eliminated 980 Russian soldiers.
