History today is a form of weaponry
Ukraine’s true history must be actively shared with the world
Why are primitiveness and short-sightedness criminal? I’m reading: "The head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, proposed that Russian 'historical society' 'experts' discuss the possibility of dividing Ukraine’s territory between different states."
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
According to Sergey Naryshkin, historians from Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia will be invited to discuss the "right to Ukrainian land."
The same statement was made by a pro-Russian presidential candidate in Romania.
And what about Ukraine? The world needs to be actively told Ukraine's true history.
That’s why I support the project "Ukrainian History: Global Initiative." For the first time in November 2023, historians Timothy Snyder, Serhii Plokhy, Yaroslav Hrytsak, and the founder — businessman Viktor Pinchuk — spoke about it in London. Viktor Pinchuk may not be a historian, but the idea itself is crucial.
However, there was another project that was thoughtlessly killed. It was initiated by Valerii Zaluzhnyi when he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Under the General Staff, there was a large unit of young and talented historians who began writing our history through Ukrainian eyes. Eventually, this group’s activity was halted. And that was a mistake. History today is one of the forms of weaponry.
