This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that in April, Russian attacks intensified in eastern Ukraine by 17% compared to March 2024. More than three quarters of them relate to Avdiivka, Chasiv Yar and Marinka.
Instead, Russian attacks on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar increased by 200% from March to April. This is likely a reflection of Russia's new attempts to gain control of the town.
"Despite the substantial increase in attacks on this axis, Russia made only minor tactical gains in the area during April and almost certainly sustained heavy losses," the intelligence analysts said.
