The commander of the Achilles UAV Battalion of Ukraine's 92nd Brigade, Yuriy Fedorenko, notes the Ukrainian forces managed to halt the Russian advance in the Kupyansk direction

He shared the information on Espreso TV.

“The brigade is performing tasks in the Kupyansk region, closer to the settlements of Zahryzove, Kruhliakivka, Kolesnykivka, Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. The dynamics are frantic. The Russian army did not fulfill the task by November 1, 2024, which means they could not reach Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. Then the deadline was pushed back to the New Year, but again they failed to do so,” explained Fedorenko.

According to the commander of the Achilles battalion, Russian forces keep launching combined assaults in the Kupyansk district.

"First, the Russian armor moves in, followed by a tank with a trawl attempting to clear the mini-fence. Then come the BMPs and BMP-LBs — armored vehicles designed to transport troops to the front line when the Russians try to break through the battle formation or 'get behind the collar.' But the Ukrainian Defense Forces are burning everything," Fedorenko noted.

The commander of the Achilles battalion also added that 80-90% of the Russian equipment that comes to the contact line is destroyed or damaged, remaining on the battlefield and then burned. The Russian assault infantry also suffers heavy losses. Over the past two weeks, no positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been lost in this section. This indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to halt the Russian advance, but Russia continues to exert pressure.

"The Russians are in a great hurry to accomplish a number of tasks because, in my subjective opinion, and considering the broader global political events, particularly the position of the U.S. leader, it seems that the Russians will be deprived of such an opportunity by the end of March," Fedorenko emphasized.
