Russian army loses 980 soldiers, 47 artillery systems and 51 drones in one day - Ukraine's General Staff

Russia's total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to May 1, 2024, were approximately:

General Staff report: 95 combat clashes take place on the frontline over the day

 The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 13 attacks near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed 4 attacks near Novosadove and Torske, Donetsk region; Serebryanka forestry, Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off 21 attacks near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Novyi, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian troops beat back 28 attacks near Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian forces near Kostiantynivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. The Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 7 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian military attacked Ukrainian positions 19 times near Staromayorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian forces keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian troops' positions twice.

Russian army launches 6 missile strikes and 80 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 95 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian aggressor launched 6 missile strikes, 80 air strikes, and 127 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.

At night, the Russian army attacked Ukraine once again, using 10 Shahed UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all the attack drones.

Three settlements in the Sumy region; 3 settlements in the Kharkiv region; 7 settlements in the Donetsk region were hit by air strikes.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroy two Russian ammunition depots and an air defense system

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation and missile troops struck a Russian radar station, 2 ammunition depots, an air defense facility and 17 troop clusters.
