Recent graduates of Russian military schools appear on Zaporizhzhia direction
Legion of Freedom fighter Kostiantyn Denysov noted that the Russian troops have a significant advantage in artillery, hunting for possible locations of Ukrainian military equipment
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Currently, officers, recent graduates of Russian artillery schools, are working in the Zaporizhzhia direction, commanding all formations and units. And this is evident when trained Russian officers, albeit on a short-term basis, work on the contact line. The invaders have a significant advantage in artillery, and they are constantly hunting for possible locations for our equipment. And not only enemy intelligence is working here, but also spotters," Denysov emphasized.
According to the Legion of Freedom fighter, Russia spares neither manpower nor artillery shells to drive the Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions and strongholds in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
"Last year, our guys were actively pushing the enemy deeper into Zaporizhzhia region, expanding the front line to avoid getting caught in the Russians' "fire bags". Now the enemy is trying to push us back, narrow the front line, and increase the area under their fire control. But Ukrainian defenders are holding the front," Denysov noted.
For reference. “Fire bag” - an area of terrain that is designated in advance for massive and concentrated fire from two or three sides to be directed at it.
- On January 16, the SBU detained a security guard at a kindergarten in Zaporizhzhia region who was correcting Russian missile attacks on local residents' homes.
- Ukrainian troops repelled 122 Russian attacks in 8 directions. Meanwhile, 127 combat clashes took place in the frontline over the last day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 920 militants.
