Russian army advances in eastern part of Chasiv Yar
As of June 8, 2024, non-governmental OSINT analysts from Ukraine and the US have recorded Russian advances in the eastern part of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region
DeepState project (Ukraine) and the International Institute for the Study of War (USA) report.
“The enemy has advanced in Chasiv Yar,” DeepState notes.
The updated map of the project shows that the Russians have expanded their zone of control in the eastern part of Chasiv Yar, across the Siverskyi Donets-Donbass canal.
In particular, from the north they moved from dachas to the territory of the Chasoviarskyi repair plant, and from the south they seized the outer high-rise buildings of the Kanal neighborhood.
The control of the urban area to the extreme east of Chasiv Yar is also confirmed on the ISW map of June 7 (pink). The industrial area of the eastern part of the city is partially marked as a combat zone and final control by the Russians has not yet been established (orange).
- On June 6, the head of the Chasiv Yar City Military Administration, Serhii Chaus, said that rescuers from the State Emergency Service could not operate in the city, but that the evacuation of civilians in the community was ongoing.
