North Korea sends 200 long-range artillery pieces to Russia, Seoul says

The South Korean agency states that North Korea has transferred about 11,000 troops, missiles, 200 long-range artillery pieces, and a significant amount of ammunition to Russia.

“There is the possibility of (the North) additionally supplying troops, weapons and ammunition going forward,” the ministry said during a briefing for the parliamentary defense committee.

South Korea believes Pyongyang will ramp up its weapons development efforts this year. 2025 marks the final year of a five-year plan focused on advanced military technology, including nuclear submarines, spy satellites, and solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles.

The document also raises concerns about North Korea receiving technological support from Russia in return for its military aid, specifically in nuclear submarine technology and atmospheric re-entry systems for intercontinental ballistic missiles.
