Military expert Prytula explains who benefits from Moscow drone attack

Mykhailo Prytula, military expert, SBU reserve colonel, military counterintelligence expert, said that the drone attack on Moscow showed the weakness of the Putin regime, and this is the main purpose of the launch of drones

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"We need to look at who benefits from the drone strike on Moscow. There are many people in Russia who are interested in striking Moscow. Starting with Prigozhin, who has the resources, knowledge and money. Of course, he could bring the drones close to Moscow and launch them. This solves his domestic political problem. First and foremost, Shoigu is to blame for the fact that the drones arrived. In this way, Prigozhin clears the way for himself and humiliates his rival. Prigozhin is showing that the Russian government is incapable, and he is a good man. This is one of the options," Prytula stressed.

According to the military expert, Russian oligarchs are also interested in harming the Putin regime, including humiliating its authority.

"There are many oligarchs in Russia who have suffered heavy losses and damages from sanctions against Russia. Their accounts are blocked and they are tired of this war. They know the Rublevka area well and could have launched and controlled these drones from Rublevka itself. The drone attack showed the weakness of the Putin regime, and this is the main purpose for launching these drones," Prytula said.

The military expert also added that the events in Moscow may involve foreign countries that are interested in Russia returning their territories.

"All the drones were Chinese, and we do not rule out the version about China. China is interested in weakening Russia so that it can regain its northern territories. Ichkeria, that is, Kadyrov, is also interested. He has such forces and could deploy drones. There is also a working version of Dagestan. Finally, Belarus is also interested in getting drones to Moscow. So it is not only Ukraine that is interested in having drones flying around Moscow. As we can see, there are many different versions to help us understand what is really happening in Russia," Prytula explained.

  • On the morning of May 30, Russians began to report massive explosions as a result of the drone attack. Damage to facades and windows in high-rise buildings was reported.

  • On the morning of May 30, Russia reported en masse explosions as a result of a drone attack. Russia's MoD blames the “Kyiv regime” for “the terrorist attack”, and Ukrainian Air Force’s spokesman called the incident "Russian internal problems"

  • Vladyslav Selezniov, a military expert and colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014-2017, recalled that in 1999, the Russian FSB committed a number of terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.

  • Question of who is responsible for Moscow drone attack is up in the air
