Lithuania, Poland, Estonia and Germany are investigating Russia's war crimes in Ukraine, - Venediktova
Law enforcement officers from the four countries will gather evidence and document possible war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Russian troops during the war in Ukraine.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova, informs Espresso.TV
"Four European countries have already launched an investigation into Russia's war crimes in Ukraine. Thank you to Lithuania, Poland, Estonia and Germany. The world coalition is growing every day for the sake of justice. Together we will win on the legal front," the prosecutor general said.
In the first stage of the structural investigation, as much evidence as possible is collected and documented. Based on them, specific defendants should be prosecuted later.
We remind that Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Russia in the UN International Court of Justice.
Canada has also filed a lawsuit against Russia at the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague over possible war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine.
On March 3, the Hague tribunal launched an investigation into Russia's war crimes against Ukraine.
