Legalized terror and looting. Russia ordered the military to switch to "self-sufficiency" - Denysova
In the temporarily occupied territories, Russian militants rob and destroy houses, take things and food from residents, beat and torture people right on the streets.
This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denysova, informs Espresso.TV.
"Today, the so-called "military commandant" signed an appeal to the residents of the cities of Nova Kakhovka, Tavriysk and Kakhovka, in which he announced a curfew, a ban on carrying weapons and holding meetings, rallies or pickets. For any violation of these "requirements", the occupier threatens to "bring to strict liability and transfer to military law enforcement agencies", the human rights activist noted.
In the city of Energodar, Russian military beat and torture people right on the streets, steal passers-by, and take away cars.
In the temporarily occupied villages of the Kyiv region, Russian militants rob and destroy houses, take things and food from the inhabitants.
According to the prisoners of war of the Russian Federation, the command gave the order to switch to self-sufficiency - in fact, the looting of the army of the aggressor state in Ukraine was legalized.
"Terror of civilians is a war crime, defined by the Statute of the International Military Tribunal and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and a violation of the provisions of the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. I ask the international community to take these facts into account when increasing pressure on a terrorist state to end the war and withdraw the army of Russian invaders from Ukraine. The Russian leadership and the military are waiting for Nuremberg No. 2", Lyudmyla Denysova added.
