Kyiv has prepared for possible actions in case of the blockade - Kyiv City State Administration
In the capital, the Humanitarian Headquarters has gathered a two-week supply of necessary food for two million residents of Kyiv in case of the blockade.
This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Valentyn Mondryivsky.
He noted that the main task of the city authorities is to provide everything necessary for every resident and to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Kyiv.
"By involving all city services, foreign partners and Ukrainian business in the process, we have formed the necessary needs and have already prepared for possible actions in case of a blockade. Those 2 million residents who have not left their homes will not be left alone if the situation worsens", - said Mondrievsky.
At present, the Humanitarian Headquarters helps the most vulnerable and assists with retail logistics so that residents can buy everything they need in shops and pharmacies that are already operating.
"The city authorities, in cooperation with business, have done their best in recent days to open shops and pharmacies and keep prices at an adequate level. We are grateful to our Ukrainian and foreign partners who were able to provide large and small stores with the most necessary goods in the shortest possible time and organized an almost uninterrupted delivery. In addition, salaries and pensions are paid in the capital, so we ask Kyiv residents not only to buy everything they need in stores but also to pay for utilities, which are provided in full too," the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration said.
We remind that British intelligence said that Russia could prepare for a new offensive on Kyiv in the coming days.
