Kazakhstan officially supports China's position on war in Ukraine
Kazakhstan has supported China's 'peace plan' for a political settlement to the war in Ukraine
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported this on its official website.
“We believe that there is no alternative, peaceful solution to this problem based on international law and the principles of the UN Charter. We advocate that the parties involved in the military conflict demonstrate goodwill, cease hostilities and come to the negotiating table as soon as possible, and that the international community do their utmost to facilitate a diplomatic solution to the situation. Kazakhstan also emphasizes the similarity of our countries' approaches to solving the pressing problems of our time, as set out in the concept of the Global Security Initiative of the Republic of China,” the statement says.

The White House quickly responded to the 'peace plan' by noting that they could stop at the first point - respect for sovereignty. US President Joe Biden rejected the 'peace plan' proposed by China, suggesting that its implementation would benefit only Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to the plan, expressing his desire to meet with Xi Jinping.
