High-ranking North Korean general wounded in Ukraine's strike on Russia
Western officials have reported that a high-ranking North Korean military officer was injured in the Russia-Ukraine war, following Pyongyang's deployment of over 10,000 troops to Russia
The Wall Street Journal reported the information.
Western officials have for the first time reported that a high-ranking North Korean military officer has been injured in the Russia-Ukraine war. This follows Pyongyang's deployment of over 10,000 troops to Russia last month in support of its invasion.
The general’s identity and the extent of his injuries remain undisclosed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier noted casualties among North Korean forces involved in fighting near Kursk.
Deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh stated during a briefing that the report could not be confirmed.
"But that being said, where they are positioned, they are absolutely fair target," she said. "We absolutely expect them to be engaged in the fight. But I can't independently confirm those reports."
