Explosion in temporarily occupied Berdiansk, fire breaks out
Late in the evening of June 8, a loud explosion occurred in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk, local residents reported a fire
The Berdiansk City Military Administration posted a photo of the explosion on its Facebook page.
"We hope it was a successful operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and are waiting for confirmation from the General Staff," the administration commented.
The Berdiansk Sohodni Telegram channel reported that local residents heard one loud explosion, followed by a strong rumble.
"A gas station opposite a bread factory is on fire. Meanwhile, the occupiers are relocating equipment from the port uphill. Perhaps to leave the city. Helicopters are currently airborne," the statement said.
The Operatyvnyi ZSU Telegram channel reported that an explosion occurred at a gas control point near the bread factory.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not yet commented on the incident.
The Telegram channel of collaborator Volodymyr Rohov, who cooperates with Russian troops and calls himself "a representative of the Zaporizhzhia regional military-civilian administration," commented on the incident at 00:16 am on June 9. The collaborator wrote that "the information about the strike on Berdiansk by British long-range cruise missiles Storm Shadow is not confirmed - local residents report that there were no hits.”
According to his version, the fire occurred near the gas station, at the gas control point near the bread factory. Gas supply is being cut off in the area, and fire crews are working at the scene. The collaborator did not name the cause of the fire.
