A Russian citizen suspected of murdering two Ukrainian soldiers on April 27, 2024 in Germany, pleaded guilty in court

At the beginning of the court hearing on Monday, the accused Russian man confessed to the crime: "Now, in a sober state, I deeply regret what happened."

The Central Directorate for Combating Extremism and Terrorism of the Munich prosecutor's office said that as a result of the argument, the Russian citizen felt "violated in his national pride."

The indictment states that the suspect is a "supporter of an exaggerated Russian nationalism" who "unreservedly advocates the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine."

  • On April 27, two Ukrainian citizens were fatally wounded in the German city of Murnau. A Russian is suspected of the murder. The German government has assured that crimes against Ukrainians will not be tolerated.
